Hokay, so. Everyone with the possible exception of Jesus gradutated this year. Me, Laura, our cousins Duncan and Elliot, children of my mother's friends...did Jesus graduate this year? Mayhap. Anyways, we ate nothing but party food for, like, a week and a half. Just this endless stream of brisket and hot dogs and casseroles and sheet cakes. The party of Laura, held here, went fairly well. We had, like, seven thousand of those bags of confetti (with little caps and little people in cap and gown and little "Congrats Grad!" things and stars and whatall) and I think we opened them all, so I'm still finding confetti around the house.

Laura found some confetti in her food.

Jack Sparrow is acclimating pretty well in the house. He's going upstairs, he stays in rooms with people, and he lets other people pet him. He is, however, freaked out by Mr. Phoenix and the Presence of the Outside. We had the back door open the other day, as it was cool and we turned off the air conditioning (as Gimli would say, bad idea, as it became Satan hot the next day), and he sat at the back door for hours. 'Twas cute.

I have yet to watch the season finale of 24. I taped it because I was watching ROTK and just kind of haven't gotten around to putting the tape in. Which is stupid, as I have played, like, seventeen hours of Civilization the last three days, but anyways. I am sad that there is no new TV until Big Brother and The Amazing Race, but I guess I'll manage. I mean, I do have Phil to look forward to, and that's some looking forward if you know what I mean. And I think you do.

Heh. Well, I've had a fairly relaxing week at home. I've already read three books and have logged about ten hour of Civ playing time, so it's been good. Laura's graduation party is tomorrow, so we've been cleaning and setting up. That's not been so good. But yeah, good flight, am home, the summer has commenced.

Oh, Angel. I thought the first half was a little exposition-y, but I liked seeing everyone on what they wanted to do on what could be their last day (loved Spike going to the poetry slam), loved that Connor came back (although I would have loved it more had they not put Kartheiser's name in the opening credits), cried when Wes died (thanks stupid tagboard troll, thanks a lot), and cried some more after the Joss Whedon tag came up, when I realized it was all over. Then I was filled with some anger after I saw the WB "thanks so much you guys!" thing, when they were the bastards that cancelled it for a show they ended up not putting on their fall schedule. But after I washed that out of my mouth, I was very pleased with the finale. I like that they left it open, with the gang still fighting the good fight. That's how it should be.

24 was also very good. I flung my hands up over my mouth when Jasmine turned her gun on Lady Mac, and then was like, man, good plot twist, not knowing that Sherry was going to get killed. Wow. I totally did not see that coming. Also loved Stephen giving in as they dragged Jane to the hotel doors: very tense and very well acted.

Eee two new shows to watch this fall. First of all, Lost was officially picked up, which is good. But also? CSI: New York. Yeah. It's got Gary Sinise. I totally less than three him, and will watch that show just for him. There's not many actors I would do that for. (Watch a movie? Yeah, that's just two hours. But a TV show? It takes someone like Sinise for me to make that kind of commitment.)

So now we're going to Mr. Bulky's to get purple and white M&Ms and dinner mints for the party, then home to clean some more. You'd think we'd have run out of things to clean by now. Not so much.

Made a whole bunch of Josh Groban icons for Laura. Whew. Stupid Photoshop crashed twice, so it took longer than I expected. Anyhoo.

Got a haircut today, as I was looking wooly and most unattractive. Now it's all sleek and shiny. Am pleased, muchly.

I hate packing. Bah! I'm ready to just get my clothes and movies and torch the place.

Finals are done with. Picked up my yearbook, then went over to Housing to cancel my contract for the fall. Technically, if one doesn't cancel by March 26th, you get charged the $400 confirmation fee regardless of whether you live in housing or not (it's credited back to you at the end of the year). So, I was all, I am not paying $400 when it was USC that didn't inform me in time to cancel. I ended up talking to three different people before I talked to someone in charge enough to grant me an exception and rescind the $400 fee. I SO PWN USC HOUSING AHA.

Said goodbye to everyone at the sound department. This is very sad. I had a wonderful time working there this past year, and I can't believe that it's over. I was really, really looking forward to TAing this fall, and I think this is what I'm disappointed about, moreso than the graduate school. Sigh.

Came home and called American Airlines about shipping Jack home. They don't do any direct flights from LAX to KCI, so we'd have to make a second trip back up to the airport Sunday night to pick him up. My mom sounded less than enthused about this. I guess I'll see if anyone here in Los Angeles wants to watch him indefinitely, but I doubt anyone will.

Now it's time to really start packing in earnest. These are the times I am truly boggled by how much stuff I have managed to accumulate. I think I'm going to try and throw some stuff out, stuff that I don't use or need. But still, I mean, did I really need to bring my collection of stuffed animals out here? Why do have an entire box filled only with toys? I just don't understand.

Caroline, Im'ma take your phone though, okay? Unless you wanted it mailed to you.

Alyssa, I need you to send me your address again. Jenny had a CD of Photoshop 7.0, I burned a copy for myself for this summer, so if you want a copy of Photoshop I can mail it to you. But I need your address. Ergo, my request for your address.

Casey, I still have your tapes. I wasn't able to dub them, as either the TV/VCR wasn't set up to do so, or I couldn't grok how to do it. Either way, yis.
