The best piece of writing I've seen all day:

Steve, you've done such a nice job making this bed, with Sleazeball sheets and Assclown pillows, and this warm Treacherous Lying Bastard blanket. Guess what? Now you get to lie in it. Sweet dreams.

This is in reference to Steve Vander Ark crying today during the copyright infringement trial over the Harry Potter Lexicon. SVA has run the Lexicon website for years, then decided to publish said website as an actual book. JRK said no, they sent out C&Rs to no avail, and have finally had to sue the publishing company over it. It's hilariously funny, and what I read about while the kids were working quietly today.

I literally woke up this morning and thought, "Today is Wednesday which means tomorrow is Thursday which means new Office and CSI!" So sad.

My last hour will be done in eight minutes! Yay! Today we worked on interjections, which are ridiculously easy; I'm so glad we're done with prepositions, which are apparently very difficult if you don't know what verbs are. Understandable.

I found five screenwriting faculty positions open today during a search. Will apply this week. I'm not necessarily getting my hopes up, as I know that in writing especially, they like professors who have published/sold material, and I haven't, but I can't get hired if I don't apply. And one of the positions is at UT, which would at least be an environment with which I'm familiar.

Halfway done with Lizzie Borden! I'm really happy with it thus far; obviously it needs more work and a polish, but it's very tight for a first draft. Probably because so much of the story already existed, which is new for me.

The greatest shot in the history of the universe:

If anyone could do me a big favor - we're gathering all the KC and Lawrence area newpapers today, so if you happen to grab a paper in your neck of the woods, if you could save any articles or the sports page or whatever for me, that would be awesome.

I still kind of can't believe it.

Battlestar comes back tonight! I'm so excited! I'm so excited! (I'm so...scared!)

But now the nervousness is setting in about tomorrow's game. If we don't win, I'll be sad, but if UNC clobbers us, THEN I'll be really upset. I just want it to be a good, solid game. Close. (Of course, if WE clobber THEM, that's fine.) When we won on Sunday to get into the Final Four, Sarah burst into tears, so if we lose? I don't even want to know.

I swear, I had other things to talk about, but right now those two are kind of buzzing my brain into oblivion. I'm working very, very hard to concentrate while I teach today, but TV! TV is exciting! Last night's CSI was new, which was great, and it was actually a pretty good episode. Bonnie Bedelia was fantastic; I wonder if they're going to bring her on as a recurring character. (I am full aware this only makes sense to Catherine.)
